Emirates ID Authority (EIDA) has honored the Emirati inventor, the engineer Ahmad Majan, who is well known as "Emirati Edison", in recognition of his innovative creations and encouraging him to continue exerting himself and his efforts for serving his country and people.
EIDA stated that honoring the engineer Majan came out of its keenness on supporting national talents, encouraging creativity and tender, and instill a sense of pride and loyalty to the country to enhance the national identity.
HE Dr. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Director General of Emirates ID Authority, offered Engineer Ahmed Majan "Emirates ID for Creation and Innovation" Shield on the sidelines of the annual forum organized by the Emirates Identity Authority to honor its strategic partners for the year 2013, at the Fairmont Hotel Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where 36 institutions and corporations have been honored, among which are 22 government institutions and 14 private institutions.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ali Mehad Al Suwaidi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, and HE Mohammed Sultan Al Obaidli, Assistant Secretary General of the Cabinet.
Engineer Ahmad Majan, for his part, thanked the Emirates Identity Authority for its initiative of honoring him, stressing that this would be an incentive to him to continue innovation to raise the name of UAE in the international fora.
