PRESIDENT REGISTERS IN POPULATION REGISTER AND ID CARD SYSTEM
A historical event in the process of development of the Emirates Identity Authority was witnessed on July 10, 2006 when President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, registered in the population register and ID card system, triggering the official launch of this national program, the largest technological program in the Middle East Region.
Apart from HH UAE President, the registration procedures were attended by HH General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, HH Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, HH Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials in the UAE.
HH UAE President listened to a brief explanation from HH Sheikh Mohammed about the development of the population register and ID card program, registration stages and the advanced information structure implemented in this program.
HH UAE President's registration procedures were made by using the VIP mobile registration system where his photo was taken and his fingerprint and signature were registered and inserted in the population registration system.
Welcoming the launch of this significant national project, HH Sheikh Khalifa affirmed that the project is one of the UAE's strategies and represents a qualitative addition that would enhance the process of action, progress and building witnessed in the UAE in all aspects of economic, social, political and security life.
